Global Consumer Futures unit in Nokia Markets organization is looking for a team leader for the Americas Trends team.

The Nokia Consumer Futures unit is charged with the responsibility of identifying relevant trends and helping to direct Nokia to new growth opportunities. Americas Trends team ensures the delivery of locally relevant and culturally unbiased understanding on societal, consumer and usage trends in North and Latin America and is the Consumer Futures team’s key contact for Nokia functions in these two continents.


Description

As Senior Manager of Americas Trends team you are inspiring, creative, open minded and positive trends expert who is fun to work with. You provide the Consumer Futures unit actionable and systematic consumer and usage trends (values, attitudes, behaviors, motivations) and related information and insights. Your responsibilities also include leading of the trends work and interpretation and consolidation of the area information both through further consumer research and analysis.


Key tasks would include:

- Leading and managing Americas Trends team and team's research portfolio and agenda with good sense of priority and leadership.

- Leading and participating the trends work in Americas (North and South Americas) and future oriented consumer research also in other markets.

- Collaborating with global and local research teams to synthesize and simplify research results and identify themes that are strategically important for Nokia

- Bringing in the trends to strategy work, design concepting, etc., and driving insights into action.

- Developing research and working methods with research agencies and documenting and sharing best practices of trends and consumer research processes and methodologies.

- Tracking and evaluating performance, and monitoring the quality and impact of the work delivered of Americas Trends team.


Requirements

As successful candidate you must have both practical and theoretical skills. You must be a recognized research practitioner and have a MA, MSc, or PhD and 8 to 12 years of experience in trends research, consumer research, market analysis, strategic marketing, or design research. You also need to be familiar with user centered design or/and futures research methodologies, ideally also in the context of online environments (researching, exploring, utilizing, etc.).


Ideal candidates are required to have the following:

- Willingness and experience in driving change to create impact. You need to be open minded and flexible and have true ability to change fast and make impossible to happen – as the work is fundamentally about getting inspired; seeing new and identifying change, as well as being inspiring; telling stories and making an impact.

- Excellent presentation and communication skills – expresses opinions, and insight impactfully and makes presentations with skill and confidence.

- Experience in workshop facilitation, especially strategy, design concepting and other workshops. Positive and energetic attitude and ability to engage people.

- Good relationship management and networking skills. Good team working and collaboration skills.

- Experience in working in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams. We would expect you to enjoy in working in culturally diverse environments and be willing to travel.

- Experience on qualitative research and analysis methods, and futures research methodologies. And also be knowledgeable about quantitative research and analysis methods.

- Experience on people management/leadership.

- Experience on research/projects in both US and Latin American markets is required.
