Account Director, Starfish

Role: The Account Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the account. This requires an intimate knowledge of the client’s business as well as the ability to communicate effectively with the client and to take direction/feedback from the client. Starfish prides itself on delivering brand-building ideas and communications to our clients, and in the end the Account Supervisor must know the business well-enough to make recommendations that will drive growth.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Knowledge of Client’s Business – must learn client’s business and be the Agency expert
– Account Management - management of overall workflow for the account including establishing priorities
– Project Management - initiation and management of strategic, creative, production and media processes
– Creative Management – Starfish works primarily with outside creative resources, and it will be the Account Director’s responsibility to manage these resources, and in some cases source new resources with the assistance of our internal production group
• Print Production Management - as the output for this client is primarily print, specifically print advertising, a detailed understanding of the print production process is required
– Quality Control - responsibility for ensuring quality control for Agency output
– Client Management - collaboration with client on daily basis to facilitate workflow, sell creative work, illicit constructive feedback, uncover/develop need for further assignments
– Billing – full responsibility for managing the day-to-day budget and all accounts payable and receivables on the account
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree required
– Minimum 8 years of solid client management experience at an advertising/marketing agency
– Thorough working knowledge of the print production process
– Resourceful, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment
– Our client is not local, so candidate must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to drive a long-distance client relationship that is based almost exclusively via phone and email
– High level proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
