Digital PR Specialist, SS+K

SS+K seeks a creative, energetic, motivated, media/digital savvy individual with public relations and/or interactive communications experience to join its New York professional staff. We work with a wide range of corporations, brands, non-profit organizations, trade associations and others to develop big, bold ideas that get attention - ideas that pierce cultural static, competitive clutter and consumer indifference
For this position, a minimum of 5 years of industry experience is necessary [plus relevant degree], ideally including a combination of work at an interactive marketing firm, PR agency and/or corporate PR department, with experience conceptualizing, developing and executing digital public relations campaigns on behalf of recognized brands and/or organizations. It is essential that the candidate be an advocate for digital thinking within the agency, and embody the agency’s interest in the intersection + overlap between the online world and the offline world.
Responsibilities + Attributes
Candidates must:
* be adept at influencing conversations on the web but know PR generally as well
* use up-to-the-minute knowledge of digital technology + trends to supercharge PR thinking + “asymmetric” ideas
* be sufficiently experienced to lead small + mid-size accounts
* be highly creative + passionate about creating noise-making ideas
* ideally have experience with search engine optimization, chat room/discussion board monitoring + infiltration, social networking, online video, and/or mobile platforms
* write well and be able to deliver client-ready documents quickly
* have a significant degree of client contact [although this will vary from client to client]
* inspire client confidence in their advice and counsel\
* develop a sufficient working understanding of SS+K’s other functional disciplines [e.g., marketing, advertising, research] so that they can consider the relevance of the services offered by these disciplines for their clients
